EP 03: We need aliens
Oct. 31st, 2024 11:59 pmThe part I was most worried about while preparing for <Alien Stage> was the ‘alien’. It was because the drawing was solid and there were not many people who could draw aliens well. It's hard to find someone who can draw aliens well, but it's harder to find someone who can draw aliens or even backgrounds! At a time when I was at a loss on how to find someone who could draw everything well, Qmeng contacted Aniya, who had been looking at it on SNS. Fortunately, the story went well, and started to join a team.
When I first saw Aniya, I thought he was like a rough diamond. That thought has not changed to this day. It was very surprising that there was no outsourcing experience, but I think that the potential came out because he had never outsourced could have a positive effect on "Alien Stage.”
Aniya works on the most difficult cuts to draw in <Alien Stage>. Starting with alien designs, backgrounds, soldiers, alien scenes, etc. Through Aniya's hands, the scale of the work has grown, and the quality has also risen.

⇒ Part of the cut in the first episode (Aniya’s work)
The first thing he did was draw a cut assigned to Aniya in Episode 0 and 1. Even though it was the first time outsourcing was done, he worked so that it blended well with the work style of <Alien Stage> while making use of his style. When Aniya completed the remaining cuts, the quality of the work increased. (All the colorful, alien scenes in the video are the work of Aniya’s)

The second task was to design the Alien Stage character's parent alien. In "Alien Stage", parents' aliens appear along with humans, and aliens were designed with their characteristics.
Since Alien Stage is a work with a large proportion of aliens, it was very important to design it as attractive as the characters. The alien design that Aniya worked on has a wide spectrum, which played a part in solidifying the style of "Alien Stage." I realized once again through the joining of aniya that the inner substance of the work soon became solid when the details were accumulated.
