EP 01: Birth of the Alien Stage

At first, it was a small wine bar. We gathered in a small wine bar and talked about creation. Looking back on the team at that time, it was similar to usual, but due to the mannerism inside the team, a new stimulus was needed.

At that time, there was only a keyword for Vivinos' new work, and it was a stage of thinking about how to materialize it. This was the first time we talked about <Alien Stage>. CALLNOG and QMENG liked "Alien Stage" a lot more than I thought, and I saw more intense reactions. I was sure it was time to bring the idea of the new work to reality.

The paintings, which had yet to be named Alien Stage, became the basis of the Alien Stage. Originally, "Idol, A girl, and Alien" conceived a sketch with only three keywords because they were not the type to create after making specific settings.

Birth of the Alien Stage

What is considered when thinking about a new work will be a public feedback on the previous work. In the series from "Trigger" to "Pink B**ch Club," the public presented various interpretations of the work. Even now, I think my work has become richer due to the interpretations are given by the public.

On the other hand, there was also a review that said, "I don't get the story well.” When we were making "Pink B**ch Club," we had more feedback on the story than in the Trigger series. At first, I thought it was a weakness, but in other words, it was evident that fans were enjoying content more deeply than I thought.

In this respect, Alien Stage is content that compensates for weaknesses and is at the opposite point of my style. I experienced a lot of new experiences while planning the Alien Stage.

Alien Stage Early Synopsis

The story initially planned focused on a provocative death game. Looking back, it was more stimulating and dull than the current ALNST. Also, it was cheap, and it had a stronger subculture style.

Early Synopsis 1

Humans Captured by the Invasion of Alien Life.

Almost all the remaining humans become alien companions or slaves.

The main character, Mia, who is an aspiring idol, goes on the stage of a death game where her life is decided according to her score as a fun thing for aliens.


Early Synopsis 2

In the night when only the stage is in the spotlight, two girls holding microphones, wearing pretty stage costumes and singing happy songs, As the song flows, it moves on to memories of the past. The two girls, who have been aspiring singers since childhood, get close by singing together, crying, laughing, and suffering many hardships.

They looked at each other fondly and sing happily. It seems that they succeeded in debuting as an idol and that their deep friendship was kept, but...

When the song ends, the surroundings light up with a dinging sound, revealing the alien creatures surrounding the stage.

The score is displayed on the display above the heads of the two girls, and the transparent dome that surrounds them slightly opens and the girl with a lower score is thrown.

The defeated girl being eaten by aliens, the victorious girl is shocked and soon captured by other slaves and taken into the dome.


A Twist

The reason why the two girls sang so passionately is because, in fact, it was an idol audition program on Earth that the aliens invaded.

The girls sang happier than anyone else, but in fact, it was the last song for either of them, and it was the last time they sang together.

The video ends by revealing that they were weak in front of their lives even though they cared for each other so much.

Before ALNST was reorganized, I wanted to upload the first episode and think about the next story.

Usually, my channel had a lot of omnibus format with a storyline, so it was very difficult to come up with specific stories and settings. 'How to make an impact in Episode 1' was given priority over the general story line.

It took time and manpower to make the keyword a story. The two leaders, Vivinos and Qmeng, had the ability to devise a story, but they did not know how to materialize it, and needed someone to fill this part. At that time, I talked about the plan for the "ALNST" to Yongjeonsa, who I had collaborated with outsourced. Yongjeonsa was very positive about the project and went to work the next day and brought detailed settings of ALNST's story. We were sure that if this person came in, the workmanship would be rich, and we offered him a collaboration. He gladly accepted the offer, and work began to attach the contents to ALNST.
